Spring Cleaning: A FREE Shred Fest

Do you have bags and/or boxes of private papers lying around your house that you need to get rid of?  I know I do!

Now you may rip up all of your banks statements, bills and pre-approved credit card applications into tiny pieces and throw them in the trash bag, seal it up tight, and then pray to God that no one decides to dumpster dive and put all of those little pieces back together.  Or you may use your own teeth and saliva to chew these things up beyond recognition for all I know.

The best way to prevent identity theft, though, is actually by shredding those kinds of things up.  The little desktop shredder we have just won’t handle the glut of paper we collect on a daily basis at our house.  So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about this FREE shredding event going on this Saturday, April 10th from 8 a.m. until Noon.  Locations for the Kansas City area are below.  Just pull in to any of these locations and look for the big “Shred-It” trucks.

I’ll probably see you there!

2010 Commerce Bank Locations:

4006 W 83rd – Prairie Village KS (83rd/Mission)

8700 Monrovia – Lenexa (87th/Monrovia)
110 NW Barry Road – KC (Barry between N. Oak and 169)
301 S.E. 291 Highway – Lee’s Summit (291 highway/3rd)
13441 State Line Road – KC (135th/State Line)
