Out of the Mouths of Babes

So I am sitting in the car line with Cameron and Quincy this morning when I hear Cameron say, “Well, I’m going to shave my hairy wee-wee.”

This.  Ahem (clearing throat).  I mean, THIS, in response to a comment from Quincy about Justin Bieber being her boyfriend.  I choked back a laugh quickly enough to get out, “Where did you hear that Cameron?”  I always hold my breath after I ask that question for fear that the response will implicate me or Greg.  We’ve realized over time that the girls possess one super-hero quality, and that one quality would be super-sonic hearing.  So there is no telling really where they would have heard something like that.  Not that Greg and I go around talking about that stuff, but…

She quickly offered up another little girl in her class as the culprit.  (Whew!)  I tried to remain calm and, very subtly, dig a little deeper so that I could fully understand the context of her conversation with this other little girl.  I mean, it could just be that she walked in on her mom shaving her bikini line or something like that.  But I got nothing more from Cameron.

So I have a dilemma.  Do I file this under “kids-say-the-darndest-things” and move on?  Or do I mention it to the teacher to alert her to the kinds of conversations going on in her classroom?

    • Thank God for daddy! LOL! My husband has no stomach for having any of those conversations with the girls. Our oldest is 10 and her Growth & Development film is two weeks from tomorrow – she reminded me this evening. I’m sure I’ll get some crazy questions after that.

    • A few months ago Cameron told Quincy she was going to “kill” her. Long story short, we discovered that a little boy in her class was telling her that every day several times a day. We definitely talked to the teacher about that one, but I could go either way on this one.
